How Would You Go About Torturing Simulated Beings

The Sims is probably one of the greatest computer games of all time, letting you create simulated beings for you to either torture or heal. Well bradleysalmanac.com decided to try theThe Sims Torture Test which involves:

creating a random couple. I build them a little room, seen below, with a door. One they’ve both walked in to check their “home” out, I get rid of the door. As you can see, the room contains the following:

* A ghetto chair
* A fireplace
* A clown painting

Hello Kitty Costumes for Your Cat

hello kitty costume advertisement Yes. You can now get Hello Kitty costumes for your cat. This is hilarious and to be honest I could really see these things taking off. Not some much because I like them, I don’t think I would torture my cats with them, but there are some die-hard Hello Kitty fans out there who would definitely force their cat in one of these head gears.

Plus they would be pretty funny gifts for people to give their cats. I’m not sure who would look more crazy. The person who dresses their cat in Hello Kitty gear, the person who bought it for them or the cat that prefers wearing the head wear.

For more pics go to the source, which is in Japan so the site loads a little slow, or who-sucks.com which is where I first read about the Hello Kitty outfits. Who-Sucks.com looks like it is a pretty new site, but they have some really good posts so far, the Hello Kitty costumes for cats being one of them.

Transporting a Dime Worth $1.9 Million

SFGate.com has a great little tale of how coin dealer John Feigenbaum disguised himself to look like an average Joe, wearing flip-flops, to transport 1 of the 9 known 1894-S dimes worth $1.9 Million from San Jose to New York.

So nervous, Feigenbaum didn’t eat a bit or sleep a wink during the non-stop flight.

All across the country, Feigenbaum kept checking to make sure the dime was safe by reaching into his briefcase to feel for it. Feigenbaum did not actually take the dime out of his briefcase, as it is suspicious to stare at dimes.

He does recall fishing around — somewhere over the Rockies, over the Midwest, and over the Alleghenies — for the dime. For the rest of the flight, he kept his flip-flopped foot planted on the briefcase and his eyes wide open.

User timjpriebe over on reddit.com points out his favorite quote from Feigenbaum.

“He told Feigenbaum he had bought it strictly as an investment and did not intend to spend it, as there is no longer anything to buy in New York for 10 cents.” - permalink

McDonalds Around the World

mcdonalds mclobster Trifter.com has a compiled list of McDonald’s menu items from around the world highlighting items that we don’t have here in the U.S. I actually took a food and culture class at University and we spent quite a bit of time discussing McDonald’s impact around the world, how they alter their menu for different cultural needs such as using no beef or beef fats in India. So I was really excited to run across this web page running through a handful of McDonald’s menu items… The McLobster is probably the grossest looking of all.

The Spinning Silhouette Optical Illusion

Spinning Silhouette Optical Illusion Supposedly, if you stare at the clockwise spinning silhouette found at the link above, she will appear to spin counter-clockwise. I starred at the naked silhouette for nearly 30 minutes before I realized even where I was and it flat out did not work for me.

It says that it takes a lot of focus, which I devoted, but maybe all that mindless staring as a young child has finally taken its toll on me.

Give it a go, I am hearing that it is actually really cool.

Find Me on Pownce

pownce

Just created a Pownce account… pownce.com/rjb. Feel free to add me as a friend, my account look pretty baron right now.

I am really interested in seeing how I will use it. More as a private tool, just for exchanging info/files with my friends, or in a more public way. I imagine a more public one, but I’ll see. Maybe both? Will I neglect my Twitter account even more? (twitter.com/rjb)
